| Class: 3-D Design Task: Create at least 5 geometrical based shapes, at least 2 must interconnect. Paint them so they look like they are not made of paper. Solution: Sketch the design concept, and then figure out how to create it. Make a humming bird with flapping wings, make a flower for the humming bird environment, and make a base to hold the flower's stems steady. Paint each piece thickly with acrylic paint. Create a variety of textures, including a wood texture on the intersecting parts of adjoining pieces to give the illusion that the sculpture was carved from a single piece of oak. |
